What newscrate is
newscrate aggregates and displays content and data collected from third-party sources — news publishers' RSS feeds, and conflict/event data on the Live Map page. We don't report, verify, or fact-check any of it ourselves; we fetch it on a schedule and display it, unaltered, with a link back to the original. See the Methodology page for exactly what comes from where.
No warranty
Everything on newscrate is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make a good-faith effort to keep ingestion working correctly, but we don't guarantee that any headline, summary, event, location, or count shown here is accurate, complete, current, or free of errors introduced by the original source or by our own ingestion process.
Not intelligence, journalism, or professional advice
The Live Map in particular displays raw, rapidly-updating event data about conflict and unrest. This is offered for general situational awareness only — it is not verified intelligence, professional risk analysis, journalism, or a substitute for official guidance (government travel advisories, emergency services, or similar). Event data, especially from the most recent hours, can be incomplete, later revised, or occasionally wrong, since it reflects the state of third-party reporting at the moment we fetched it. Do not use newscrate as the basis for a safety-critical, financial, legal, or other high-stakes decision — verify independently through primary or official sources first.
Third-party content & attribution
Article headlines, summaries, and links remain the property of their original publishers; we link back to their sites and encourage reading the full piece there. Event data on the Live Map is sourced from UCDP (the Uppsala Conflict Data Program) and used under its Terms of Use & Attribution Policy. newscrate is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by UCDP or any publisher whose feed we aggregate; all trademarks and organization names mentioned are the property of their respective owners.
Use at your own risk
You are solely responsible for how you use anything you see on newscrate. Before relying on it for anything important, independently verify it through the original source or another authoritative one.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, newscrate and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages or losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site — including but not limited to errors, omissions, or delays in aggregated articles or event data.
No accounts, minimal data
newscrate doesn't currently require an account to browse, and we don't hold a server-side record of your activity on the site. See the Privacy Policy for what little we do store and why.
